Consultation & Privacy Policy
Scope of Practice
Reaching out to me is a great first step, but contacting me doesn’t mean we have officially started therapy together.
My practice is focused specifically on anxiety and related concerns. Because of this, I may not always have the skill set for every situation. If your concerns fall outside of this scope, or if I feel another provider would be a better fit, I can provide referrals to help connect you with appropriate care.
Confidentiality & Its Limits
I treat every message with care and maintain confidentiality, however there are limits to this and I may need to break confidentiality when there is:
- Suspected or disclosed abuse, neglect, or exploitation of a child, elderly person, or vulnerable adult.
- Imminent risk of severe harm to yourself or someone else.
- Valid court orders or legal mandates.
Please note if you contact me about someone else’s care, the information may not be confidential and I may inform that individual or share what you sent with them.
To maintain high quality care, I occasionally consult with professional colleagues bound by strict ethics. I take precautions to protect your privacy by omitting your name and minimizing identifying details.
Contact Forms, Consultation Notes & Storage
When you contact me or complete an initial consultation call, I create brief notes to help evaluate clinical fit, track our communications, and satisfy professional legal and ethical standards.
Form submissions, emails you send me, notes I create, and screening details are retained for at least seven years, from the last date of contact.
I use trusted third-party cloud providers to communicate with you and to store inquiries and the notes I create. This data may be processed on secure servers located in Japan or overseas (such as the US) under strict security standards.
Although I use secure, encrypted providers, no digital system is 100% immune to security risks, which you acknowledge when contacting me or sharing information.
I will not sell or use your information for marketing purposes.
